Kevin Masters

Director of Sports Performance

As a hockey player, Kevin played in the Western Hockey League for 5 seasons with the Moose Jaw Warriors and Red Deer Rebels. Kevin finished his competitive hockey career with the University of Calgary Dinosaurs while completing his Bachelor of Kinesiology. Kevin has been working as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist for 20 years. His certifications include:

  • BKin
  • CSCS

He works with youth and adult sport performance, adult health and wellness, and multi-sport endurance training. Kevin’s passion for coaching has always been sparked by his desire to experience and learn. Kevin has completed ten Ironmans, with a best time of 9 hours and 36 minutes, including two Hawaii Ironman Championships. He has competed in everything from 5km to multi-stage ultra mountain runs to recently refining his power training experience and knowledge through Olympic Lifting. Kevin’s excitement for the next new challenge keeps his clients motivated and accomplishing their goals.

Sliver Delorey

Chief Performance Coach

Sliver Delorey is a former member of the Edmonton Oilers training staff from 1989- 2007. Even though he was originally hired as an Equipment Manager, being surrounded by the best Strength and Conditioning minds in the Edmonton area made it easy to get the right type of guidance to set him on the path into the Health and Fitness world and eventually was involved in Off-Season Training with the team under the guidance of their fitness consultant, Daryl Duke and Dean of Physical Education and Recreation / President of the Sport Medicine Council of Canada, Dr. Art Quinney.

Since leaving the Oilers he has worked in the Middle East, at the Asian Games in Doha, Qatar and upon returning to Edmonton he has worked as a Strength and Conditioning Coach and runs an annual charity event named THE DUKER (named after his mentor from the Edmonton Oilers), to benefit SPECIAL OLYMPICS.

Sliver Delorey is a National Strength and Conditioning Association – Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT) with Olympic Lifting Certifications and has over 15 years experience in the Sports and Fitness world.

Dominic Oppong

Performance Coach

Growing up in Toronto Dominic participated in many sports like soccer, basketball, hockey, track and rugby.  He pursued his passion of becoming a professional soccer athlete when he signed with Buffalo City in 2009 of the NPSL and later with FC Edmonton in 2011.  Dominic made his Team Canada Debut in 2005.

Dominic completed his Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from the University of Buffalo in 2010.  His other Certifications include:

  • PTS (Personal Trainer Specialist) from Canfit Pro

Aspiring to increase the performance of his clients, Dominic is continually studying new movements and techniques that may be applied for an individual to meet their goal.  Even though researching new training methods has a personal advantage, he is always excited to share it with his clients.  With the knowledge he has from his athletic background, he likes to put a big focus on mental stength.  Dominic will help you achieve your fitness goals.

Karl Gellert

Performance Coach

Growing up Karl played basketball, wanting to be in better shape, as well as stronger and faster, he started lifting in his teens. Karl has been fascinated with lifting weights for the majority of his adult life.  He later discovered the work of Joe Defranco, which was his first proper introduction into strength and conditioning. He was instantly hooked, reading and watching anything he could get his hands on.

Karl completed his Diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion at St. Lawrence College as well as obtained his:

  • CPT (Certified Personal Trainer) from CSEP (Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology)

He loves helping people who were in the same position as him, especially working on strength and training foundations for beginners and younger athletes.  He is also extremely passionate about helping the general population, especially those in particular who may be past their “athletic” prime, but still want to be as strong, mobile and injury-free as possible.

In the years he’s been training, Karl has been extremely fortunate to have worked with a large variety of clients, ranging from football, hockey and basketball players, beginners, middle age men and women as well as the aging population. Regardless of your experience, if your goal is to get stronger, healthier and improve your performance, Karl is constantly learning and improving on techniques to get you to your goal.

Jessica Ibasco

Performance-Rehabilitation Coach

Growing up Jessica participated in dance, basketball, and ringette. Through her experiences, she has developed a fascination with human movement and sports performance. Jessica has dabbled in both realms of rehabilitation and performance with the goal human function. She has been working with Propel Sports Physical therapy for years, mastering corrective exercise prescription for many of our rehabilitation clients. She has recently discovered the world of Strength and Conditioning and has grown a strong interest in it.

Her backgrounds come from Rehabilitation and sports performance, allowing you to achieve your goals, injury free with consistent assessments and modifications.

Jessica will be graduating from The University of Alberta with a Bachelors of Kinesiology and a major in Sports Performance this year. Her other certifications include:

  • CFSC (Certified Functional Strength Coach)
  • TPI (Titleist Performance Institute)
  • FMS (Functional Movement Systems)
  • FMT (Fascial Movement Taping) through Rocktape

Jessica has developed a wide skill set while continuing to learn. If you are looking for someone to help correct your injury while and lead you to better performance for your sport, fitness, or activities of daily living, Jessica will make sure you will achieve your goal!

Liam Watson

Performance Coach

Liam has been involved with hockey his entire life, playing in multiple Junior “A” Leagues such as the CCHL and OJHL. He has a passion for athletic development and molding himself and others to reach the summit of their physical and mental performance. Liam has personal experience with a multitude of training methods and loves experimenting with new ones. He believes that anyone can be a jack of all trades, but it takes dedication to be a master of one. His certifications include:

  • CPT (Certified Personal Trainer) from CSEP (Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology)   

Liam Completed his Personal Fitness Trainer Diploma at NAIT and has obtained his Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) Certification. Athletic development has been part of Liam’s life for over 8 years. Liam’s goal is to take everything he learns and translate that to each aspiring athlete and fitness fanatic that he has the pleasure of working with.


Ethan Lindsay

Performance Coach

While growing up in the Edmonton area, Ethan participated in a number of different sports: hockey, basketball, track, and volleyball. Though playing hockey the most, his favorite was and is volleyball. Having to train for a high level of fitness in order to compete in each sport, Ethan started gaining experience in a gym throughout his teen years. After high school, Ethan continued to train and hired a trainer which is where he discovered his passion and desire to help others reach their goals.

Ethan has completed his Diploma in Personal Fitness Training at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. Other certifications Ethan has also obtained include:

  • CPT (Certified Personal Trainer) from CSEP (Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology)
  • CES (Corrective Exercise Specialist) from NASM (National Academy of Sport Medicine)

Having worked with NAIT’s Women’s Volleyball team as a student trainer, Ethan gained experience in both corrective exercise and sports performance training. Ethan will use his corrective exercise background to help you get through the next steps of your recovery and use his performance training experience to help you prepare for upcoming competition or reach the next level.

After having a successful experience with a past trainer, Ethan now wants to help new clients have success in reaching their goals. Ethan wants to share his knowledge to help clients learn how to safely and efficiently train.
